Question of the week #4

When you find yourself struggling spiritually, what do you do?  Where do you turn?  Can you identify when you are struggling?

When I struggle spiritually, I usually pray and search for the answer in God’s word. I mean, what better way to fix a problem than to use the instruction manual for life?
I can usually identify when I’m stuggling because I notice a difference, whether large or small, that occurs in my relationship with God. When this difference occurs, I will want to change it, and God will help show me the way to bring that change about.

When i got injured just before cross country season started, i questioned God a lot. I was so mad all the time that i just let myself keep on going without any help at all. That probably didnt help me get bitter either. I finally broke down one night after hiting my knee and ankle on a chair just trying to get to the bathroom. I was home alone so i just prayed right there on the ground.

About two weeks later i was conditioning for my first race of the season. Not only is it literally a miracle that no more damage was done and that i healed as quick as i did, but i did good. God gave me the strength to get 11th in conference (one place off of all conference title. God is good at keeping people humble), be the fourth out of five individuals to advance to sectionals from regionals, and get 34 out of 157 people at sectionals three people from advancing to state individually.

That is a miracle to me as well. I mean i was out of shape and in pain in every race. Still God let me do good on pure determination. This experience has strengthened my relationship with God more than I ever thought possible.

PS: At sectionals i ran a 17:38 over 3.1 miles in ankle deep mud half the time. This is significant because it was like God was saying to me,”Look what i can do! Look what i can do!”
I tied my best time from last year to the second except for last year the course was in perfect condidtion and is 2.8 miles long.
