At CrossRoads we have an early service that is described as “blended worship” meaning traditional hymns and a few “light” contemporary pieces. Then we have “contemporary” worship at 10 AM that has our praise band…guitars, drums, keyboard…stuff that is being played at the youth rallies, etc. The later service is definitely the best attended and “younger” overall. One of CrossRoads founding ideals was to reach out to new generations, so this service really fits the mission. The earlier service is really for our “saints” (the senior citizens who were bold enough to come to the new work) and the folks who work during the late service (kids church and nursery workers, etc.)

When we had the ice storm and lost power, all of Eva’s little fishies died. She handled it well..sounds like Caleb did too! Happy birthday to him!

Happy birthday to Caleb! We thought of him yesterday and reminicsed of days gone by. Isaac was reminded of how much he misses all of his Anna FBC buds (as do his parents!).

I agree with ingolds. It is essential for our children to be brought to an understanding of Christ’s love for us that is found in His life, death, and resurrection. With that said, if parents do not feel that their children are not ready to view a production such as the one you are referring to, then let them make the decision to keep their children from seeing it. But, as soon as they are ready, I feel that it is a good thing for everyone to view a production such as this.

I don’t think that there is a universal answer to this question. The decision would have to be made individually within families. I would certainly allow Connor to watch the presentation, but probably not Isaac as he is not as emotionally mature as his older brother. Certainly children should understand the reality of the Cross, but not until his/her parents feel they are ready to do so.

This presentation sounds really cool. Who is putting it on?

I think that the ages are pretty evenly dispersed throughout the three services. This is mainly because there are also various ABCs meeting all three hours.
